Every programme, scholarship, and safe space at AkaMusyi exists because someone decided to take part in something bigger than themselves. Your contribution, big or small, directly supports women and girls in rural Kenya to access education, health services, and livelihood training.

Change doesn’t happen in isolation, but by hands that come together. If giving isn’t the right fit right now, there are other ways in.
We work with businesses, foundations, and institutions that believe in sustainable, community-led change, from CSR collaborations and product partnerships to grants and long-term programmes.

Become a memberIt goes into programmes, not overheads that sit apart from them. In 2025, 43.46% of tracked spend went to education access and youth development, 23.34% to women’s economic empowerment and skills training, 15.34% to wellness and dignity support, 9.13% to digital and organisational infrastructure, and 8.72% to community mobilisation. Our ground zero is the Yatta Plateau in Kenya’s Eastern Province. We chose grassroots over grandeur: we walk village to village, hold conversations with women and families, and design every programme around what they tell us they need rather than what we assume.
AkaMusyi was founded in October 2024 by Purity Mwaka, who leads it as Founder and Executive Director alongside a small team covering programmes, creative, monitoring and evaluation, and technology. We work with partners including Microsoft, Equity Bank Foundation, Equity Afia, Chiromo Hospital Group, Binti Pads, and eLengo.
